  • Garden Sites -

We have many planted public gardens in the community:

  • Dorothe's Island at Higbie Lane and Udall Road
  • Higbie Lane at Montauk Hwy
  • Pine Lake, eastern entrance to West Islip on Montauk Hwy Pine Lake welcome
  • Keith Lane at Union Boulevard Keith Lane garden
  • The Community Center on Higbie Lane Community Center garden
  • The western entrance to West Islip on Montauk Hwy at Rt. 231
  • The western entrance to West Islip on John Street at Rt. 231
  • West Islip Marina entrance

  • Planter Boxes -

Our volunteers maintain over 50 planters. Each one is given tender-loving care all year long, from planting them in the spring, to watering and weeding them through the summer and fall. In winter, the planters are decorated with evergreens, red ribbons and bows.

  • Union Blvd clean-ups -

Our volunteers periodically ensure that the West Islip section of Union Blvd is kept presentable.

  • Holiday Decorations -

The West Islip Beautification Society is responsible for the lovely holiday decorations found about town. Besides the planters, trees are decorated and pine roping and ribbons are placed on our streetlamps and the Library fence on Montauk Hwy.
